Out Now: Shawn Mitiska & Sedi - Double Tap (Incl. SNR Remix) [Silk Royal Records]
December 9th, 2013
As supported by Above & Beyond on Group Therapy 055
Two standout talents in Trance & Progressive, Shawn Mitiska & Sedi, have joined forces on "Double Tap," a jubilant, peak-hour release, featuring an equally powerful remix by fellow American sensation SNR. Shawn Mitiska is one of the most accomplished artists on our imprint, having written numerous top-charting singles in his illustrious career. Most recently, his remix of Dan & Sam feat. Maxx Hennard's "Walls" appeared on Above & Beyond's "Group Therapy" radio show three weeks in a row. Sedi & SNR have also been featured recently on the show, as well as "Jaytech Music" and Myon & Shane 54's "International Departures."
The Original Mix kicks out of the gate with the main chords, soon reinforced by a stormy groove. Light arps begin to fill out the soundscape as well, followed by one of the most enduring motifs in the track: a series of angelic vocal samples, which truly infuse the track with an ethereal, floating-on-air quality. In the main break, we are unexpectedly met by a poignant piano score, coupled with an equally moving string theme. The latter half of the tune, following a ferocious drop, features all of these beautiful melodic elements in perfect unison.
With a slew of well-supported singles and remixes this past year, including "Beautiful Change" (a collaboration with Rikkaz & Jan Johnston) and "Kumba," as well as numerous DJ events at some of the biggest festivals & clubs in California, it is no wonder that Bay Area-based talent SNR is making waves. His innovative, genre-bending style is on full display in his "Double Tap" remix, which kicks off with a stadium-rocking bassline and layered lead chord sequence. A short mini-break at the quarter turn makes way for a wildly euphoric melody, coupled with the heavenly vox. In the main break, SNR treats us to a short progressive dubstep interlude, followed by an inspired and truly explosive drop.
Out Now: Dan & Sam feat. Max Hennard - Walls (Incl. Shawn Mitiska Dub Mix) [Silk Royal Records]
May 27th, 2013
Released at the beginning of 2013, Dan & Sam feat. Maxx Hennard's vocal progressive anthem "Walls" proved to be a fan favorite, as well as well-supported single on international radio. We are thrilled to present a pair of brand new remixes by two of our imprint's most distinguished artists: Shawn Mitiska and Nigel Good.
Internationally renowned producer and DJ Shawn Mitiska, who provided the only remix of "Walls" in the original single release, returns with a stunning "Dub" version. No stranger to international radio support for nearly a decade now, Shawn has once again received a great reception for his work, as this rendering has already been championed by the likes of Kyau & Albert, Max Graham, Aruna, Mike Shiver, PROFF and more. Faced with the enormous task of offering an equally inspired vocal-less version of "Walls," Shawn truly rose to the occasion. He offers numerous mesmerizing melodic layers and vocal FX through the tune, which should tickle the ears of even the most discriminating listeners. The climax of the song is a great highlight, as Shawn's rapturous chords greatly encourage us to knock down the "walls" we build in life.
Out Now: Shawn Mitiska feat. Hannah Ray - Salt (Incl. Mike Danis & Nigel Good Remixes) [Enhanced Progressive]
March 18th, 2013
Next up on Enhanced Progressive is a release that has been given a new lease of life. Shawn Mitiska feat. Hannah Ray 'Salt' returns by popular demand with two fresh remixes!
First up is the unstoppable Mike Danis who infuses techno elements with a club driven bass, and reworks the melody to make room for his massive sidechain chords.
Also drafted in is Canadian producer Nigel Good who brings a more progressive, down-tempo edit. Nigel injects bundles of fun into the track which illustrates Hannah's vocal superbly.
This package comes complete with the Dub Mix by Shawn Mitiska and the Original Vocal Mix first released in 2012.
A brilliant fresh twist on an unforgettable release from Shawn Mitiska feat. Hannah Ray!
Out Now: Dan & Sam feat. Max Hennard - Walls (Incl. Shawn Mitiska Remix) [Silk Royal Records]
February 18th, 2013
Dan Sieg & Sam Wilkinson, better known as Dan & Sam, dazzled international progressive fans and DJ's alike with their debut effort on our imprint, "Breaking The Illusion." Not only did it receive great international DJ support, but the single also went on to reach #2 on the Beatport Trance release chart, as well as earn a spot on Max Graham's acclaimed "Cycles 4" compilation [Armada]. Their sophomore effort, "Walls," is another ornate and melodic progressive gem. This time around, they have recruited promising vocal talent Maxx Hennard, whose rich baritone adds a warmth and "sophisticated" sentimentality to the track. The one and only remix in the package comes courtesy of American sensation Shawn Mitiska, whose decorated veteran career includes numerous solo hits, most recently "Salt" [Enhanced]. Supported on countless occasions by Armin van Buuren, amongst other top international DJ's, Shawn Mitiska has been a truly humbling addition to our label roster this past year, with standout remixes on Schodt's "Heatwave" and Shingo Nakamura's "Whither." His work here, a vocal rendering of "Walls," affirms that he truly possesses a remarkable talent for crafting intelligent and uplifting peak-hour tunes.
On remix detail, veteran talent Shawn Mitiska is always reliable, especially when it comes to transforming more chilled progressive cuts into club killers. Yet, one of Mitiska's greatest talents as a remixer is that he is never compromises the musicality and emotional depth of a song in the process. Rather, he builds off the rich soundscape created by Dan & Sam by adding delicious new pads and synth layers, including a lovely piano line to the main riff. Meanwhile, the groove is infused with some serious "hop" and swing, and the vocal is meticulously processed, with subtle reverb and delay, as well as various other FX scattered throughout the full-bodied texture. In the main break, we are once again met by the euphoric choral vox, backed by inspirational lead chords and pads.
